Social Networking and Its Impact on Today's Society and Generation

            Social networking is arguable one of the most vital and influential aspects of today’s society.  We as people have become so involved in websites such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and etc. that these websites have become apart of our daily routine.  People are able to live their life through these websites by providing information to the general public, sharing personal information and photos, and participating in events.  Now, social networking has evolved into a way for any individual to find people of common interests, find jobs/careers, and share their daily lives.

            “The Social Network” (year) is a film depicting how Facebook was originally created for college students and how it has evolved into today’s leading global social network.  Facebook is still growing rapidly due to the countless opportunities and advantages it brings to people, organizations, and businesses.  As a graduating senior at the University of Connecticut, I have seen the importance of social networking in the college lifestyle.  Social networking is as much apart of the college experience as move-in day, sporting events, and even graduation.  College students use Facebook as a way to meet up for group projects, share information among organizations, and for social events/gatherings.  Many will argue that our generation has become obsessed with social networking due to the fact we depend on it to function within society.  Even if this is true, we as a generation see social networking as an undeniable advantage because it has become an essential aspect of today’s society.
